Well the wait is over. It is now released, for real. No longer a beta or RC. The real deal.

was this the big surprise?
Nope, the cool stuff I saw in Redmond (and mentioned on twitter) was other stuff. New stuff. Secret stuff I can’t talk about, except to say that there is some cool stuff coming 🙂
you’re killing me!
Hi guys,
I have a question. my IT crew installed the new version today. but now I cannot open any workbooks anymore. addin shows up, but as soon as a try to start the powerpivot window it says “Embedded Analysis Services Engine: Could not load embedded PowerPivot data.” I first thought it would be an issue if upgrading v1 workbooks, but it is not – it starts with any empty workbook. so I cannot even built a new one from scretch.
anyone who had a similar problem – maybe something gone wrong with the upgrade. is there something that needs to be done when installing the new version?
hope anyone could help.
thanks a lot
Did you solve that issue? I have the same issue now 🙁
Are you sure about this? The link at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/bi/powerpivot.aspx still hasn’t been updated, and the link to the “RC” is broken!
Where is the release official notes/feature list for differences to V1? The only entry I see is https://powerpivotpro.com/2011/07/powerpivot-v2-ctp3/ (thanks for that!)
