Facelift!

The new look is just awesome and amazingly user friendly… but important features available before for searching and finding topics are missing.

At least 60% of what I do in powerpivotpro.com is to search for help on important topics. Many of these topics deserve to be re-visited a couple of times given the remarkable quality of their information. I miss being able to surf them through the different “folder” classifications to which they were linked. These would show on the front page and on a right side pane listed in groups. Some links included groups like “Inventory Management”, “Power Update”, “DAX formulas”, “Sales and Marketing”, “Dashboards”, etc. Although the taxonomy itself still had room for improvement, it was a handy, practical way to glance through related topics. This was great especially when all you had was an idea of what you needed and was moved to “look out there” to see what was available. With the new setup now powered by custom Google search, that great feature is gone. Are we going to have it back???

When glancing through the different topics after clicking on any of the mentioned links I was able to have a better description of the related posts. With the embedded functionality of Google search, the snippets are in my opinion, very limited and very limiting. They show as much as 1 ½ lines.. This makes the process of finding what you want take longer. Is there a way to have the introductory lines describing the post increased to say, 5 or 6 lines? Or maybe up to 4 like in the old days? Please? I feel like I am already negotiating before having received any offer. 😉
